  • How long can I expect my roof to last?

  • What is the best flat roofing material?

Flat roofing materials have come a long way in the last 20 years, traditionally built-up felt roofing was considered the best flat roofing material but with new modern technology we now have an array of superior materials to choose from.

Each system is different and after an initial assessment of your roof by a member of our team we will advise you on which system we think is the right choice for your flat roof.

The 4 best flat roofing materials are:

    • Fibreglass (guaranteed for 20 years)

    • Single ply (guaranteed for 20 years)

    • EPDM Rubber (guaranteed for 20 years)

    • Torch on felt (guaranteed for 15 years)

  • Do fibreglass roofs crack?

Fibreglass is one of the best flat roof materials on the market, the finished product is sleek in appearance and colour

and its robust and durable properties make it an ideal choice for a flat roof.

However, there are many companies carrying out fibreglass flat roof replacements without the experience or knowhow resulting in a poor installation, if a fibreglass flat roof is poorly installed it can result in a process called thermal expansion which can make the fibreglass crack open and allow water ingress. This is usually a result of no gaps being left between the boards and perimeter edges and also the installer not understanding the correct ventilation for the specific flat roof.

We have been installing fibreglass flat roofs for almost 20 years so rest assured that you will be in good hands if you choose us for your fibreglass flat roof installation.
